The EV Star REEFERX was designed for mid-to-last mile refrigerated deliveries as well as catering applications. The refrigerated trucks of class 4 have a single interior wall structure, and higher insulation than traditional trucks, allows for seamless sanitation and better temperature control. They also have a longer lifespan. GreenPower has joined forces with Perrone Robotics to up-fit the EV Star with their TONY (To Navigate You) autonomous vehicle system, which will allow fleets to easily move to autonomous vehicles. The AV Star is also capable of wireless charging up to 75 kW.

We were capable of testing the EV9 on an unpaved highway for several hours and found it to be simple to drive, and comfortable to drive long distances. The ride is smooth over bumps and ruts, while the EV9 is a master of reducing the sound of traffic and wind on the highway. The acceleration is quite quick, and the car comes with adjustable regenerative braking to enable "one pedal driving" by lifting off of the accelerator.

The EV9 has a great range and can be fully charged in about three hours at home, or with any commercial charger. Drivers have the option of choosing between two operating modes: eco mode and sports mode. The eco mode prioritizes the torque and cruise control and the sport mode increases speed and handling. GreenPower is already producing about 10 EV Star buses per month for the Jacksonville Transit Authority, which is working to replace their fleet of old diesel vehicles with 100 electric vehicles. GreenPower will increase production to meet the demands of the Biden Administration who is planning to electrify all school buses in America.
