WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades will give you a boosts in certain stats. Each upgrade boosts the level of an item by +3. A random substat is also boosted alongside every upgrade.

The upgraded gear is usually more valuable, unless it is not required by nature (like FB sorc shields) or has a large variance in stats (like Eth Titan weapons). Upgrades are not as important for those with lower requirements due to the requirement to roll an exact version.

Recycle Points

The upgrader for items allows players to upgrade their gear to a higher item upgrader kit level by supplying the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any kind of armor or weapon. However, the item level Upgrade used to upgrade will be consumed forever and can't be used again. Upgrades can also be used to create the enchantments.

You can upgrade your gear at any time by visiting the upgrader in any major city. It is recommended to visit the upgrader once every few weeks to ensure that your equipment is up to date.

Upgrades will cost more, based on the level of the item, however, they are always less expensive than purchasing new equipment. For instance, upgrading a Benthic chest piece to 385 ilvl will cost 20 recycle points while purchasing the same item from another player will cost 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are items that can be used for tools, armor, weapon, and accessory upgrades. They are purchased by players through NPCs that sell upgrades to items in exchange for various currencies, and can be found in random treasure lists. Once an upgrade has been purchased it can be applied to any weapon, tool, or armor using the help of The button will show the preview of an item's next level of upgrade, in the event that there are enough materials.

Upgrade costs vary depending on the slot of the item and the current level of the item. For example, weapons will cost more than gloves, bracers, or bracers. Each upgrade cost 15 Flightstones and a few crests, with some upgrades having a discount to lower the cost of Flightstones or crests that are used. Once an item has been upgraded to a certain level it is able to be downgraded and sold to the upgrader at a lower price.

Many locations have upgraders for their items in addition to the main island and a few outposts. The NPCs provide both an upgrade discount and the chance to obtain a new upgrade recipe. Crests

Crests are a key element of the Dragonflight gear progression system that was introduced in 10.1 and are available in 4 ranks.

Players can earn crests through completing content of the appropriate level, which means walking around and doing outdoor activities for lower-tier gear, raids or dungeons of all difficulties for higher-tier items, or Mythic+ heroic raid bosses and dungeons for endgame gear. Crests can be exchanged at an upgrader NPC, like Cuzolth in Dornogal, or Vaskarn in Valdrakken, for the appropriate upgrade routes and steps.

The new currency system isn't difficult to use, but it brings some modifications to the upgrade process. For instance, when an item upgrader kit is at the highest level of upgrading for any rank (Explorer, Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, Hero, or Mythic), it won't require Flightstones to be upgraded. This change allows players to upgrade their equipment to the highest possible ilvl on all their characters, instead of relying on seasonal loot.

It's also important to use crests with care, since they are only used for one purpose.
