Item upgrading allows players to upgrade their weapons and gear with new affixes that boost its stats base or giving additional benefits. To upgrade an item, the player has to have it in their inventory, as well as access to the kiln.

Items that have weak bases, such as rings, can be upgraded into more robust bases. Items with strong bases, such as the Titans of eth have little change in their stats.

Upgrade components

Upgrade components can be added to armors, weapons, trinkets, and gathering tools. They give you an attribute bonus, or an additional benefit, while the equipment is being used. To upgrade a weapon or piece of armor, the player has to choose it and click the Upgrade button on the toolbar. This will display a preview on the right side of the screen, showing what the expected upgrade stats will be as well as the component or material needed for the upgrade to take place.

There are three kinds: universal upgrades (which include gems), prefix upgrades, and suffix upgrade components. Universal upgrades, like gems, are able to be used on any kind of equipment. They offer a lower bonus than upgrade components that are subject to a type limitation. Infusions are jewels that are only available in legendary and ascended equipment. Leveling

Path of Exile's upgrade system differs from previous versions in some fundamental ways. Gear is now divided into tracks, and items can only be upgraded a certain number of times before they are "leveled out." The cost of upgrading increases with each level, but the required materials aren't as high. This lets players focus their efforts on a handful of essential items and maximize their impact instead of spreading upgrade costs across multiple pieces.

This will enable the item to receive new upgrade components, and have a greater chance of success. This bonus is known as the Artisan’s Energy and it resets at 0 if the upgrade fails or increases if the upgrade succeeds.

Once a piece of gear is upgraded to its highest level it can be eligible to be given affixes that boost its attributes. The amount of affixes available is determined by the item's type. For example the rare or exclusive weapon that has a standard base will only have two affixes for it, while legendary armors will have up to eight affixes available for it.

Each upgrade process requires a certain number of Flightstones or Crests, depending on whether the item is at its current level and what slot it is in. Typically, weapons will require more Flightstones to upgrade item than other types of equipment.

If an item doesn't reach its maximum level, the NPC offers the player the option to transfer it to a different character and then re-infuse it with a new set or upgrades. This process can take up to two hours, and costs the same amount of materials. However, it has a lower rate of success.

Engineers will use a level in order to measure the height of the building against a known location, such as the benchmark. This is known as a "level loop." It involves taking readings with the backsight rod and the level before turning the level and taking the foresight rod reading. This method guarantees that buildings are constructed to the highest level of accuracy and security.

Rerolling

Rerolling is the process of changing the upgrade components of an item upgrade. It is a crucial element of the game and can increase an item's damage, strength or other characteristics. This can be done through the menu for items or by clicking the Reroll button on an upgraded item upgrades. Rerolling an item upgrade can be costly and should be used sparingly.

Reroll tokens are derived by recycling upgraded items. These tokens can be used to upgrade either the original item or a comparable item. Recyclable items have an indicator of the level which shows how much of the upgrade gauge is filled. The amount of level that has been filled is contingent on the rarity and cost of upgrading of the item.

In the past, certain upgrade items were affixed with priority that made them easier to roll for than others. This meant that you'd be able to get the stats that were important most to your build often than other items. This included things like the armor's total armor, thorns and duration reduction stats that are controlled or the weapon's bonus attack speed and critical strike chance.

This has changed since the latest patch. Priority affixes have been removed and all upgrades will have the same odds of rolling for each stat. This can be a great or a bad thing, depending on your needs and expectations from your equipment.

Each upgraded item can also have a unique bonus that boosts the power of the item by a fixed percentage or flat value. These bonuses are rolled into the standard affixes. The more you upgrade a product, the higher your chance of obtaining an exclusive bonus.

The game also comes with various sets which give a set bonus when three or more upgraded items from the same set are equipped on a unit. This is a great way to add a lot of power to a specific character without spending a lot of money.

Many players opt to reroll their equipment and weapons, particularly in the early stages of the game. Rerolling is a way to gain a stronger character faster, which allows you to progress in the game and reach higher tiers.

Sets

Sets are collections of elements that can be put together in different ways. They could be of various dimensions, have no elements, or only have a single element. They can be utilized to organize data or to sort information. They also aid in studying patterns. Sets can be classified in various ways in terms of size and shape.

Players can also look up the upgrade requirements for specific items at the Cyrodiil Golden vendor or Leaderboard.

In general, weapons and armor have higher value when they are fully updated. Upgrades to gold are recommended for weapons with weapons-damage or spell glyphs. This will result in a significant improvement in their performance. This will also boost the defense of armor that has a newer appearance.
