World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading

Upgrades can increase the value of armors, weapons and rings. They also boost extra bonuses, such as damage from PvE and crit chance.

For example an item with the upgrade template ending in % will gain 3damage to attack each time it is upgraded (relative to its previous value).

The cost of upgrading an item upgrader mod is determined by the item's level. The cost increases with the item's level.

Components

Upgrade components can be added to weapons, armor and trinkets to give them a boost in stats or an extra effect. They can be obtained through crafting, purchasing from vendors, trading with other players, or looting. Some upgrades also have specific cosmetic effects.

Upgrade components can only be used on devices that have slots. The item must be at least upgraded to blue level before the component can be applied. Unlike other mods, upgrade components can only be used one time; they cannot be applied multiple times or replaced by new upgrades. Infusions and enrichments are a type of upgrade component that is used to upgrade non-amulet legendary and ascended equipment, as well other items that are not ascended. Enrichments and Infusions can be obtained by salvaging equipment that is ascended or by completing a mission within the Prophecies, Factions, and Nightfall campaigns.

A prefix or suffix may be added to an upgrade, thereby changing the name of the item it's applied to (for example 'Canthan Armor Insignia',' changes to Canthan Armor Minor Vigor). Certain upgrades can increase the Mark Rarity or Level of an item, which lets players to create stronger versions of the item using the smallest amount of Upgrade crystals than they need to reach the same level using normal methods.

A 'boost' upgrade can alter the attack or defence attributes of the weapon or armor. After the player has completed the cutscene and defeated the Crazed Mechanist the upgrades can be created at the Portative Forging Station. These upgrades are available for purchase them from the cash shop, or by getting them from enemies while upgrading other gear.

The player can have a maximum of five boost upgrades at one time; each upgrade increases the likelihood that a higher-level version of the item will drop during the next reset. This gives the player some incentive to keep upgrading their gear even if they're not sure of the extent to which it will improve after a future reset.

The process of upgrading an item can be expensive and it is likely that the item will become obsolete, or even break, when the upgrade fails. Upgrade Crystals and assist powders are also destroyed when the upgrade fails. Cash shop items can be used to minimize or eliminate the chance of failure. Some upgrades also offer a bonus if they are reinserted.

Glyphs

Glyphs can be used to upgrade the Paragon Board by placing them in sockets that are specifically designed for. Glyphs boost the power of nodes within a radius, and include any pre-existing attaches. Glyphs are upgraded in a variety of ways, and we recommend getting them to level 15 as soon as you can.

You will often find in the endgame that putting Glyphs is the best method to upgrade your gear. These are the only upgrade components that can be upgraded up to level 15 and give significant boosts to your power on the Paragon Board.

Glyphs, the only upgrade component which can be removed without restriction and then replaced with no restrictions are the most commonly used. Only legendary equipment can be salvaged and re-placed by using the help of a Black Lion Salvage Kit.

Each Glyph has a specific range of values that can enhance a stat by. The value is shown when you choose the Glyph in your inventory. You can replace it with a Glyph that is of the same or higher rank to boost the value of the Glyph.

You can find Glyphs in the Black Lion Trading Post, as part of the Gem Store purchase or bundle with certain tools for gathering unlimited use and also through Faction Crypt raids. Every Faction Crypt has a chance to drop one of the numerous Glyphs, and there are some rare glyphs to be found in the form of drops from any of the four Faction Crypts.

Once you have obtained the desired Glyphs You will have to attach them to your equipment. Each Glyph unlocks a bonus that boosts the stats of a specific set of nodes within a radius around the Glyph. Depending on the Glyph it could be +40 to one of your primary stats or +25 to two of your secondary stats.

Glyphs boost all nodes that are connected to them, so it is recommended to place Glyphs in key spots on the Graph. This will increase the impact. Druids for instance should position their Glyphs close to their primary damage nodes. They may be able to place them near their critical damage nodes.

Leveling

The upgrade system of items allows players to boost the effectiveness of certain items by inserting upgraded components. This is often referred to as "upping". Every upgradeable item is assigned a level that determines the final statistics. Upgraded items can be leveled up to a maximum of 385. Each level of an item requires various components, and upgrade costs increase with each level.

Certain upgrades require an ingredient to be activated. This ingredient can be obtained by completing Upgrade Recipes. These recipes can be found in the upgrade tab of a crafting table, or purchased from some NPCs. Each Upgrade Recipe that is completed will result in a certain amount of Technology points. These points can be used for the upgrading of an item. Once enough points are earned you will be eligible to claim the upgrade and receive its additional bonuses.

When an individual player upgrades the equipment they have the original item is replaced by an item that is new. This means that the same piece of armor will be transformed into a weapon or shield when upgraded. The new item will have its own set bonus. This could be a problem because it can cause the item to become more expensive if you don't require it.

The upgrades to items can be rerolled, provided that the player has enough tokens to be able to do this. This causes the item to be exchanged for a brand new one, which will have a level 1 base and a totally different set of bonus bonuses. This can be useful but it should not be repeated often since it can be a waste of resources.

Certain upgrades can increase their value and allow players to modify their equipment. An excellent example is Dolphin's Gift, which gives an advantage when a player repeatedly enters and exits water (or is able to swim like a dolphin). This can be upgraded several times, each time increasing the maximum roll by 10 points. This item is extremely useful in PvP. A properly rolled version could be worth 50 times the value of the unupgraded counterpart.

Requirements

The ability to upgrade items allows players to upgrade the level of their available equipment--armor, weapons, and trinkets that are above ilvl 385 by providing the appropriate currency and items to an NPC who upgrades items. The upgrade of armor set pieces will also increase the base defense of that piece, while upgrading weapon items will increase the base damage and the strength and dexterity required to match the requirements of the upgraded equipment.

All items can be upgraded up to five times, with the exception of hero gear, which can have eight upgrades. Each time you upgrade an object it has a chance of failing. The probability of failure increases as you go over the maximum number. Failures can result in the item reverting to its original condition and the player having to spend additional items than if they stopped upgrading after the maximum number.

If an item fails to upgrade the amount of experience in its growth bar is reset to zero. The item upgrade will also lose any bonuses it has gained like chances to be crit damage to attack, other effects (such as increased heal over time, or reloading speed). The player can continue to use their weapon or armor even after the failure.

When an item is upgraded, the upgrades are applied from the lowest to highest. This means that, if a weapon gains an increase in the chance of crit, the increase is applied prior to any increase in attack damage. Slots is a new attribute that was added to item definitions. The value is recalculated every time an upgrade occurs.

The amount of resources needed to upgrade item an item is based on the rarity rating and the number of upgrade slots. The cost for upgrading non-premium items is equal to the base value of the upgrade--for example, a common equipment item could have five upgrades at a cost of 25600 Technology Points 4x Quality Improvement Chance. Hero grade items have a lower cost per upgrade.

Premium items have different upgrade requirements than standard gear--for instance, they might require fewer sowels, but they will require more minerals and erons. However, players will have to visit the NPC [Armor] Boboko in Central Flarine with each piece of equipment they want to upgrade. Each upgrade of equipment requires different amounts of ingredients for upgrading, in addition to the costs mentioned above.
