It is very fast and does an excellent job of cleaning my two-bedroom apartment. It vacuums carpeted rooms quickly and hardwood floors in the kitchen, living room, and hallways with just one pass. The motor's 8,000pa power allows it to remove dirt hair, pet hair, and poop easily. Carpet detection boosts power automatically when it encounters rugs and the dual side brushes help to tease away debris from corners.

The mopping performance is less impressive, but not by much. The mop's rotating mechanism spins fast and uses 2.2lbs to clean dirt and stain. I've noticed that the front arms stick out a bit more than other robots, which is helpful to maneuver around tight corners and along baseboards. The same front arms can also be used to collect larger debris such as books and toys that have been damaged.

Another nice feature is that the S1 Pro is one of the quietest robot vacuums and mop I've ever used. It is quieter and doesn't create more noise when mopping or vacuuming. The S1 Pro is only limited by the fact that it has to use a mopping solution that is proprietary and is sold separately. It is easy to set up and performs well. However, if you are buying this robot vacuum for mopping purposes, you will need to be aware of this.

The Roborock Q Revo

The Q Revo stands apart from most robot Vacuums that mop vacuums that mops in its class. It has a robust suite of features that make it a great choice for homeowners looking to purchase a highly effective, versatile, and customizable cleaning machine.

The robot is divided into two parts which include a dry bin and water tank that can be snapped in and out and a mopping unit that has a microfiber pad. It's not the most modern thing to have separate modules for mopping and vacuuming but it does mean that you don't need to worry about changing the bags for disposables or refilling the tank with water.

Our test participants discovered that the Matrix Plus did a great job at both vacuuming and mopping. Its best feature is its precise floorplan map, which it uses when cleaning. It was easy for the Matrix Plus to navigate around furniture, rugs and other obstacles. The app also offers the option of setting "No-Go zones" and virtual barriers, which can help to protect certain areas of your home from being swept with a mop.

We also found that the Matrix Plus did surprisingly well in picking up pet hair. The X1 Omni is the most expensive robot vacuum that can be found in our review, however it also has unique features that make it worth considering. The X1 Omni's biggest draw is its huge dock that doubles as a charging base and housing for two water tanks, a cleaning sink, and a 2.5-liter dust bin that is automatically emptys.

The base also has a number of control buttons that allow you to manually start a cleaning task, recall the robot, or start the dock's auto vacuum and mop-emptying process. Press two of the buttons to turn off a child lock that is a great feature for parents who are worried about their children playing with the vacuum.

The X1 Omni like other robotic vacuums, utilizes its camera to spot obstacles and furniture that are in its path. It will steer clear of them. Its True Mapping 2.0 navigation system will map your home 10 times faster than laser detection systems and is four times more precise at recognising objects.

This can cause the X1 to get stuck if it gets caught in a hazard, such as a power cable tangled over a rug. It will not work until you remove it manually. Although this is not a common occurrence but it was a very frustrating experience when it did happen particularly since the X1 Omni doesn't have an "stuck" status alert on its application.

The X1 Omni cannot automatically switch from mopping to vacuuming mode during cleaning. You'll need to manually switch between the two modes, which isn't too bad however, the mopping pad isn't washed or dried between uses. This could lead to mildew and mold.

On the positive side the X1 Omni is a beautiful-looking robot, thanks to the design team at Jacob Jensen (of Bang & Olufsen fame) who conceptualized its modern and sleek base as well as mopping pad apparatus. It's a significant departure from the utilitarian, all-black bases used by competitors like Roborock and iRobot and is a refreshing appearance in a market that is dominated by bulky boxy models.
