The panel was a huge hit with our panelists, who loved the dark wood sides and the dowel edges. It's durable enough for your child to use until they are toddlers. It also is compliant with British safety standards. The depth isn't so great that your child could climb out the panel, and the distance between slats should not exceed 65mm. This will prevent their heads from getting stuck. It's worth bearing in mind that you'll need purchase a mattress on its own, which is an extra PS88.
