World of Warcraft Item Upgrades

Item upgrades are a way to increase the stats of an item. Depending on the upgrade type it could increase an item's Mark Level or Rarity, and also boost other stats.

Upgrades to gear in The War Within requires a set number of Flightstones and Crests Each item has an upgrade track. Each upgrade increases the cost of the next one by a set amount.

Item Level

The value of an item's stats base increases as it is upgraded. The value is the sum of all of an item's upgraded perks (attack magic attack and defense). Upgrades to items can be costly, depending on the upgrader you choose and what kind of upgrade you decide to do. This is due to the variety of perks that must be changed in order to upgrade an item.

It can also be used to enforce gating requirements when queueing for dungeons, raids and scenarios. It also serves as a gating requirement while waiting for dungeons, scenarios, and raids, as well as to limit the amount of PvP gear a player can wear (since PvP is restricted to the lower levels). The average item level is listed on the character sheet.

The level of an item can help players evaluate the potency of gear when choosing to buy or sell. It's a sign of the damage and its quality. Comparing items in the inventory of a seller is possible using the item level.

On PC, you can see the level of the item by pressing ALT or using the left stick on XB1 or PS4. This will display the full item description, including its value. It is also accessible by hovering over an item using the mouse cursor, and then typing /itemlevel into chat.

There are various theories on how the calculation of the item's level is done. One theory suggests that the item level is determined by a formula that calculates how valuable the stats of an item really are. It takes into consideration that different advantages are valued differently and that gems in sockets boost the value of the item. This process could result in a calculated value for the item upgrading's level, which is usually quite close to Blizzard's actual level of the item upgrade.

This isn't the only thing that affects the ilvl of an item. The degree of the area in which the item dropped can also change its stats. For instance, it could add a level to the item's haste, or crit rating. This means that items dropped at higher levels will have higher value than items dropped in lower-level instances.

Item Stats

The stats of an item can make or break an item for players. The game uses a variety of them in a variety of ways to encourage players to play with a variety of weapons, and prevent one weapon from being "the most effective." The base stats on a weapon are boosted by the weapon's stat modifications, which are themselves boosted by the player's level.

The upgrades to items add by increasing certain stats on the item. The costs for upgrades are determined by the rarity of the item. For instance, a grey or white item can only be upgraded once, whereas items with rare tiers can be upgraded many times at higher prices.

Affixes are a different method to change an item's stats. They are stat boosts that can be added by the player to an item. Affixes are used to give items extra damage or special abilities (such as reviving dead or reducing cooling downs), or to distinguish them by putting a name on them.

Currently, all affixes can be rerolled by selecting them from the upgrade window and pressing the green button with circles arrows. This process will cost the player a certain amount of gold as well as items that can be used to add to the upgrade gauge in the same way as other rerolling options.

In addition to Rerolling affixes and rerolls, players can select which of the available stats they want to keep on an item when it is upgraded. The stat ranges are determined by the item's level. However each item will have at least one stat within that range unless they are a unique item or an item that has a God Roll from a boss in a raid.

This is another thing that could be changed by introducing an option to upgrade the equipment without having to reroll the affixes or deciding which stats to enhance. Similar to the base equipment, this will have to be done per item, and the Best item upgrader comparison interface will not show all possible stats simultaneously.

Item Luck

A player's Luck stat stacks up to increase the chances of item discoveries as well as the properties that appear on loot drops and the strength of the properties. It doesn't, however directly impact damage or the ability to upgrade items. It gives the player a chance to upgrade their equipment earlier in the game, and is therefore more valuable in the early game than later ones because most players value more powerful weapon scaling and defenses over the raw damage gain.

Luck can also boost the likelihood of upgrading items at the Blacksmith. This is not to confuse with the Blacksmith’s overall chance of upgrading that increase with each level of the item. These can also be enhanced by using anti-materials such as a Scroll of Strength and a Jewel of Blessing.

The shields, armor and weapons come with the default Luck value of 40. These items can be improved with golden ingots or spined leather (depending on the type of material) to add another 40 luck or to increase an item upgrade's existing Luck up to 140.

Furthermore, certain items, such as the Hollow infused weapon can be outfitted to increase the damage dealt by any damage-dealing skill by 5%. These items can be found in the shop or created with the right ingredients.

Item Failure

Not all upgrades work. However, there are cash shop items that allow players to boost their chance of success or stop themselves from losing an item if the upgrade is unsuccessful.

When you upgrade an item the success rate is shown in the Honing UI. The percentage represents the chance of completing the upgrade successfully, and it can be increased by adding Additional Materials or Special Materials. There are limits to how much the success rates can be improved, and the overall chance of a failed upgrade cannot be greater than 100%..

The performance of an upgrade is also affected by the Luck of that item. Every item has a base success rate of 25%, and every item that has Luck increases that chance by an additional five percent.

The item upgrade overlays are rendered above the items in the inventory. This could obscure enchantment effects and other effects. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the Item Upgrader CORE client config.
