Carpet detection boosts power automatically when it comes into contact with rugs, and the dual side brushes help to tease out dirt from corners.

The mopping performance, though still impressive, isn't as effective. The mop's rotating mechanism spins fast and uses 2.2lbs to scrub dirt and stains. I've noticed that the front arms protrude out slightly more than other robots, which is useful for getting into tight corners and along baseboards. Those same front arms can also be used to sweep larger objects, such as broken toys and books.

This can cause the X1 to become stuck if it is entangled in an obstacle like a power cable draped over a rug. It won't work until you manually untangle it. Although this is not a common occurrence, it was a frustrating experience when it did happen and especially because the X1 Omni doesn't come with a "stuck" status alert on its app.

The X1 Omni isn't able to automatically switch from mopping to vacuuming mode during the cleaning process. You'll need to manually switch between the two modes, which isn't too bad however, mopping pads don't get cleaned or dried between use. This could lead to mildew and mold.

On the positive side the X1 Omni is a beautiful-looking Robot Vacuums That Mop, thanks to the design team at Jacob Jensen (of Bang & Olufsen fame) who dreamed up its modern and sleek base as well as mopping pad.
