World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading

Upgrades increase the value of certain numeric statistics on armor, weapons and rings. They also boost extra bonuses such as damage from PvE and crit chance.

For example an item with the upgrade template ending in % will suffer an attack damage of 3% each time it upgrades (relative to its previous value).

Item upgrading costs crests and the item's current level. The cost rises with item's level.

Components

Upgrade components can be added to trinkets, weapons and armor in order to give them a stat boost or an extra effect. They can be obtained through making crafts, buying from vendors or trading with other players or looting. Some upgrades have special cosmetic effects.

Upgrade components are only available to devices that have slots. The item must be at least upgraded to blue before the component can be used. Unlike other mods, upgrade components can only be used one time; they cannot be applied repeatedly or replaced with upgrades. Infusions and enrichments are a specific kind of upgrade component that is used to upgrade non-amulet ascended or legendary equipment, as well as some of the items that are not ascending back. Enrichments and Infusions can be obtained by salvaging equipment from the ascended state or by completing a mission within the Prophecies, Factions, and Nightfall campaigns.

A prefix or suffix can be added to an upgrade items, thereby changing the name of the item it's applied to (for example, 'Canthan Armor Insignia,' is changed to Canthan Armor Minor Vigor). Certain upgrades boost the Mark Level or Rarity of an item, which lets players to create stronger versions of the item using the smallest amount of upgrade crystals than they require to achieve the same level using standard methods.

A 'boost' upgrade can change the attack or defense attributes of the weapon or armor. These upgrades can be made using the Portative Forging Station once the player has completed the cutscene and defeats the Crazed Mechanical. These upgrades can be purchased by purchasing them in the cash shop or by getting them from enemies while upgrading other gear.

Each upgrade items increases the likelihood that a higher-tier version of an item will be revealed at the next reset. This gives the player some incentive to keep upgrading their gear, even if they're unsure of how much it will improve following a subsequent reset.

The process of upgrading an item can be expensive, and it is possible that the item will eventually become obsolete or even break if the upgrade fails. Upgrade Crystals and assist powders are also destroyed if the upgrade fails. This is reduced by the availability of cash shop items that double or even eliminate chance of failure, and a few upgrades that give an additional benefit when they are inserted into an item.

Glyphs

Glyphs can be used to improve the Paragon Board by placing them in sockets that are specifically designed for. Glyphs boost the effectiveness of all nodes in the area around them and include pre-existing affixes to equipment. Glyphs are upgraded in many ways, and we suggest getting them up to level 15 as soon as you can.

In the final game, you will often find that the Best item upgrader way to improve your gear is to place Glyphs. They are the only upgrade components that can be upgraded directly to level 15 and offer significant boosts to your power and radius on the Paragon Board, enabling you to reach higher nodes more quickly.

Glyphs, the sole upgrade component which can be removed without restriction and replaced again, are the most common. The only exception is legendary equipment, which requires an Black Lion Salvage Kit to salvage and then re-install.

The value of each Glyph is displayed when you select it from your inventory. You can replace it with a different Glyph with the same rank, or a higher rank, which will increase the overall value of the glyph.

There are Glyphs in the Black Lion Trading Post, as part of a Gem Store purchase or bundle with certain tools for gathering unlimited use, and through Faction Crypt raids. Every Faction Crypt can drop one of these Glyphs. There are also some rare glyphs that you can find in any of the Faction Crypts.

After you have acquired the desired Glyphs you will require them to be placed on your equipment. Each Glyph will grant a distinct bonus that will boost a particular set of stat nodes in the vicinity of the Glyph. Based on the Glyph, this will either be +40 to one of your primary stats or +25 to two of your secondary stats.

Glyphs will increase the number of nodes connected to them, so it is best to put Glyphs in key locations on the Graph. This will maximize the impact. Druids for instance, should place their Glyphs close to their primary damage nodes. They may be able to place them near their primary damage nodes.

Leveling

The system of upgrading items allows players to increase the effectiveness of certain items by placing upgraded components into them. This is commonly known as "upping". Every upgradeable item is assigned a level which determines the final statistics. Upgraded items can be upgraded up to a maximum of 385. Each item level requires various components, and the cost of upgrading increase with each level.

Certain upgrades require an ingredient to be activated. This ingredient can be obtained by completing Upgrade Recipes. These recipes are available in the upgrade tab of a crafting table or bought from NPCs. Each Upgrade Recipe that is completed earns a number of Technology Points. These points can be used for the upgrading of an item. When enough points have been earned you'll be able to claim the upgrade item and receive its additional bonuses.

When the player upgrades an item it is replaced by a new item of the same kind. This means that the same piece of armor will be transformed into a weapon or shield when upgraded. The new item will also have its own set bonus. This can be a downside in that the item could be more expensive even if you don't need it.

If the player has enough tokens they can roll item upgrades. The item will be replaced by an entirely new item that has a level 1 basis and completely different bonuses. This is a good idea, but shouldn't be done often as it can be a waste of resources.

Certain upgrades can boost their value, allowing players to customize their gear. Dolphin's Gift is a good example, as it provides a buff if the player continuously enters or exits the water. It can be upgraded multiple times, each time increasing the maximum roll by a factor of 10. This item can be very valuable in PvP as a perfectly rolled version of it could be worth between 20 and 50 times its value without being upgraded.

Requirements

Item upgrading allows players to boost the level of their equippable equipment - weapons, armor, and trinkets that are above ilvl 385 by offering the appropriate items and currencies to an item upgrader NPC. Upgrading armor set pieces will also boost the defense base of the item, and upgrading weapon equipment will increase the base damage and required strength and dexterity to match the requirements of the upgraded equipment.

All items can be upgraded up to five times except for hero equipment, which can be upgraded eight times. Each time you upgrade an object it is at risk of failing. The probability of failure increases when you exceed the maximum number. Failures can result in the item reverting to its original state, requiring the player to pay more for materials than they would have to had they stopped upgrading at the maximum number of upgrades.

If an item fails to upgrade the amount of experience in its growth bar is reset to zero. Additionally the item will lose any bonus it earned, including crit chance and attack damage, and all other effects that are associated with that effect (for instance, a higher healing over time or the speed of reloading). The player can continue to use their weapon or armor after the failure.

When an item is upgraded the upgrades are applied in order from lowest to highest. This means that when a weapon is upgraded, if it receives a crit chance boost that it will be applied prior to any damage to attack increases. A new attribute known as Slots is now added to the item definition and the value is recomputed every time an upgrade is made.

The amount of resources needed to upgrade an item is determined by its rarity rating and the number of upgrade slots. The upgrade cost for non-premium products is equal to the base value of the upgrade. For instance, a standard equipment item could have five upgrades with a cost of 25600 Technology Points 4x Quality Improvement Opportunity. Hero grade items have lower costs per upgrade.

Premium items could require different upgrades than regular gear. For instance they might require less sowels, but they will require more minerals and orons. Regardless, the player will have to visit the NPC [Armorthe ] Boboko in Central Flarine with each piece of equipment they wish to upgrade. Each upgrade of equipment requires different amounts of upgrade ingredients in addition to the expenses listed above.
