However, they do have a few flaws that keep them from being our top pick. One of them is that the Q5's navigation doesn't have AI-powered obstacle avoidance, so it's prone to get caught up in shoes and socks, and is unable to navigate tightly packed rooms very well in our tests. It also doesn't have a camera to see around corners.

Still, it's very good, especially if you want to save money on a Roomba from iRobot, and you have a mostly unfinished home or office. It's also extremely quiet and can be used while you're at work or at school. The only thing it doesn't have that you don't get in the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30 is edge-to-edge vacuuming on bare floors. It's also less effective when it comes to mopping. It is dependent on disposable wet wipes that don't adhere well and isn't able to handle dried-on debris. The Q5 comes with a self-emptying cradle, however. If you're in need of it, the mopping pad can be swapped for a wet one in minutes.

2. IRobot Roomba

The iRobot Roomba X30 is a compact elegant vacuum cleaner that can also sweep floors. It can clean the floor even after it has vacuumed. This is a feature we haven't seen on other robot vacuum that mops vacuum/mop combination.

3. iRobot Roomba X40

With an elegant circular design that appears like a regular Roomba than the competition's compact models This robot vacuum and mop combo is one of the most appealing looking in our evaluations. iRobot’s latest flagship model is also the most intelligent. It's also the only robotic vacuum/mop to score a perfect 10 out of 10 in our tests. This is thanks to a combination high-tech sensors, including a structured light system, camera, and a variety of lasers. The X40 Ultra is also the only robot we tested that is fully self-refill and empty its base station and boasts an its own self-cleaning mop pads.

The X40 as with other iRobot products, is easy to use. It comes with a simple mobile application interface and integrates with Amazon Alexa and Apple HomeKit. The only drawback is that the X40 still a loud unit. This can be a problem in mornings before work, or at night when you're trying to fall asleep.

It's also somewhat expensive, although it's not as pricey as the Ecovacs X2 Omni or Roborock's S8 MaxV Ultra Both of which are equally powerful and better-looking. This is a two-in-one vacuum that is very efficient, but it's more expensive and make more noise.

4. iRobot Roomba L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is the top-of-the line robot mop and vacuum. It has a number of advanced features that make you forget about your chores. The L20 Ultra is a hands-free cleaner that is similar to Ecovacs top-of-the-line X2 Omni or Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra. It features a multi-functional dock that can automatically empty the vacuum's bin and fills up the water tank, as well as washes and dries the mop pads.

It's self-sufficient too, with a full-featured application and an auto-emptying, washable base.

The iRobot application is designed to guide you through the mapping process which collects information about your floorplan, as well as any "no go" areas that you've marked on the map. It can be used to create cleaning schedules or to set up a spot-clean. It can also be used to it to rank your most filthy areas for better performance. The app comes with a variety of features, including seasonal suggestions, custom mapping and advanced cleaning settings.

Its shape is more rectangular than most other robot vacuums, meaning it can reach corners and underneath furniture more easily.
