Lever Pad

For instance, exterior doors must be secured with a higher security cylinder, whilst internal doors can be secured with a standard cylinder. Additionally, certain cylinders come with additional features which can enhance security, for instance anti-drill or anti-bump features.

To ensure that the euro cylinder is the right size for your door, it should be measured accurately. The cylinder should be measured from the central screw hole to the ends of the cylinder. This includes the thumb turn in the event that one is present. If you are unable measure it using the lock in a fixed position, you can remove it. A cylinder that is protruding beyond the handle and escutcheon could be vulnerable to attacks, such as snapping locks, therefore it is essential that it is not too long.

The majority of modern cylinders have been designed with anti-drill and bump resistance features included in their design. These are designed to reduce the chance of attack by forcing cylinders to turn in a different direction. This will help to deflect the attack and ensure your doors are secure.

There are also cylinders that are constructed to resist snapping. Spring Cassette

This spring cassette sits in the base of your door handle's backplate providing a sprung solution that returns the multipoint lock handles back to their normal position after usage. The handles were previously equipped with no spring and would drop when the locking mechanism was removed. This component is the best way to address this issue. It also stops your door from getting stuck in either the open or closed position as they are difficult to close manually.

These spring cassettes were created to be used with a sprung multipoint locks. These cassettes are a replacement to broken or missing cassettes in the backplate of uPVC door handles. They are fitted with a square cut out which allows for an 8mm spindle to be used and they are supplied individually.
