After weeks of social media posts hinting at it, the luxury car maker Lamborghini finally announced its first venture for tokens that are non-fungible (NFT). The Space Key is a collection of five physical objects that allows you to access an exclusive digital work by a yet to be identified artist. The project was developed in collaboration with NFT PRO(tm) the 'collector's piece' is limited to five units and will be auctioned off shortly.

Each Space Key contains a block composed of a carbon-fire composite material. It was shipped to the International Space Station as part of a research project in 2019. After returning to Earth the block was inscribed with a QR codes that connect to the digital element in the Space Key.

Each of the five Space Keys will feature a separate moment that occurs seconds apart as the Lamborghini Ultimae lifts off toward the stars. Each of five images was shot by photographer Fabian Oefner and contains over 600 million pixels.

Oefner utilized an inflatable camera that had lenses to capture the individual images, which were then assembled into the final photograph. The result is a picture that is completely out of the world. It captures the beauty of Earth and the futuristic, hyperrealistic picture of a car rising away from the Earth. The Space Keys will be auctioned off in the near future, but the exact date and location of the auction haven't yet been set yet.
