Robots That Vacuum and Mop

Robots that vacuum and mop provide the convenience of cleaning dry debris (dust dirt, grit) and wet messes (spills or staining) in one go without the need to switch out devices. They also can save space compared to two separate units, especially in smaller living spaces.

A good combination bot will have excellent navigation and obstacle avoidance. Find models that automatically empty their bins and fill up their water tank, and wash their mopping pads with a dedicated dock.

1. Eufy S1 Pro

It's one of the simplest robots to install that we've tested. Unpacking is simple and the quick-start manual will have you running in no time. You'll have a a full dust bag, water tank and a hard floor solution.

The S1 Pro is an incredibly powerful machine that can mop and vacuum well. Its mops spin at high speeds and can apply 2.2 pounds (1kg) of force, making short work of dirt, pet hair and dried sticky spills. The vacuum has four power modes, a selection of brushes and attachments, and an intuitive app that lets you pick the kind of cleaning you'd like to have for each room.

For instance, you can choose to have the robot take care of a thorough clean-up in the kitchen and living rooms but take it easy in the spare bedroom. The S1 Pro has excellent front collision sensors as well as smart navigation technology. It can detect small obstacles that other models can't. Its only issue is that it tends to crash into objects and walls at full speed. However an inspection of the cleaning history on the app will show you exactly what the robot done, where it is going, and which obstacles it has stumbled upon or avoided.

A convenient LCD screen on the docking station informs the maintenance tasks that need to be done like emptying the debris tray, and rinsing its dirty water tank. It can also mix detergent into the water tank automatically with a 600ml of eufy solution.

Both the S1 Pro mop and vacuum have a long running time. The mop is able to run for 184 mins in Quiet Mode, and the automatic vacuum cleaner can run for 136 minutes in standard mode, before needing to recharge or returning back to the base. And you can see the full cleaning details in the app, which is intuitively laid out and easily understood however we would like to be able to differentiate between a mop only vacuum and mop clean, when looking at a clean area in the history of cleaning.

2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra

The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra is the latest version of the company's flagship robot mop and vacuum. The model this year has an agitator that doubles as its mopping pad. This improves the cleaning capabilities of carpets with this model. The S8 Pro Ultra has an improved suction power that enables it to pick up smaller hairs as well as other debris other robotic cleaners could miss.

As with the two other Roborock models I've tested it also has a 3D obstacle avoidance and infrared technology which helps it avoid walls, furniture and other obstacles. However, the S8 Pro Ultra takes things one step further by having a dual camera that can detect objects and decide whether they're a wall or another type of surface. It is able to change its course in a way that is automatic vacuum cleaner and mop and clean around the objects without stumbling.

It's the most expensive robot I've ever tested and it comes with the most features. Its sleek, angular style is attractive and it has only three physical buttons which include the power button which also resumes cleaning; a mop button that doubles as a child lock; and a home button that can return the robot to its dock. The hinged lid can be opened to reveal a 350ml trash bin and 200ml water tank. The water tank is automatically filled and the bin fills up automatically.

The only negative I discovered with this model is that its VibraRise mop pad mount isn't movable. It is possible to replace the mopping cloth if required, but it's not easy to take the mount off for washing manually. I've noticed that any carpet that the robot crosses will come into contact with the rough Velcro like fastener system on the mount, which can cause scratches.

The S8 Pro Ultra has a number of smart capabilities, including support for Google Home, Amazon Alexa and Siri. You can manage and set up these through the Roborock app, which is also the home of its maps and advanced mopping settings. The app lets you schedule cleanings and monitor the battery's life. You'll need to go through a few steps to enable voice control on this model. This is a shame considering the performance otherwise.

3. Dreame X40

The Dreame X40 robot hoover and mop vacuum and mop is a leader in the industry with cutting-edge features, high suction power and advanced mopping capabilities. Its smart design allows users to tailor and effectively clean while reducing time.

The X40 is the first robotic vacuum cleaner to provide 12,000 Pascals of cleaning power, which makes it one of the most effective options available. This powerful vacuum can clean up dry debris, including pet hair and dust. It comes with a mop of high quality that cleans hard floors without the need for a pad. The X40 is also extremely quiet in operation and only occasionally bursting during mode changes or self-maintenance.

Another noteworthy feature is the X40's extendable and liftable side brush which allows it to get into hard-to-reach corners and intimately clean furniture, such as tables and chair legs. It also lets the robot to access low-profile furniture making it an ideal option for smaller apartments and condos with limited space. The side brush automatically tilts down when detecting wet spots. This is a nice feature that helps the X40 avoid damaging floors with repeated back-andforth movements.

In contrast to other robots that solely focus on one task, the X40 can perform both vacuuming and mopping at the same time or individually. It can also be programmed to avoid areas with carpets and mop only hard floors or vice versa. It can be controlled via the Dreame app or by using Alexa, Siri, and Google Home to ensure a smooth voice-controlled operation.

The app is simple to use and intuitive and the X40 has many smart features that are simple to set up. Users can program the X40 to clean at specific times, adjust suction power and mode, look at mapping and floor plans, and manage mopping settings. The X40 will also track its progress, and alert you when it is finished.

The X40 is easy to maintain and has numerous features that make it an excellent option for busy families. Its docking station automatically empties the dustbin into a large 3.2 L bin, cleans the mop pads, and refills them with clean water and cleaning solution. It will also tell you whether the mop pad has reached its maximum capacity and alert you to the situation before it spills.

4. L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra robot vacuums that mop is one of the most expensive models on the market. It has a number of features that make it stand out. The mops come with a brand new feature called Smart DuoScrub that uses two high-speed mops to scrub floors more thoroughly than the standard method, and it has a high maximum suction power of 7,000Pa. This is higher than the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra and Ecovacs Deebots T20 Omni. It can also remove pet hair, dirt particles and remove spills and dirt-stained spots.

The mop is cleaned and dried in the base station every time they are used. This feature is great because it stops mould and unpleasant odours from accumulating in storage. It also makes the mop system more efficient. This is a feature that we haven't seen before on other robot mop and vacuum models. It could be a great way to keep your home clean longer.

There are a lot of options, including the ability to schedule cleanings and adjust preferences. The app lets you define these preferences, or you can use the buttons on the device itself. The app is simple to use and has a lot of options for customizing the cleaning process, and there are a lot of features that other robots do not include, for instance, the Clean Genius mode that automatically increases suction power whenever it detects dust particles instead of relying on an individual setting.

The L20 Ultra has a stylish design with a white-and-metallic finish that looks sophisticated and classy. It is a little heavier at 4kg than some of the other robots on this listing, but it's still not a lot of weight. It feels solid and well-built. The mopping system is also well-designed, and the double rotating mop is great for hard floors or in corners. They can even reach down to 2mm baseboards thanks to the MopExtend feature, which is a nice touch.
