The S1 Pro has excellent navigation and mapping capabilities, due to the internal dToF system. It can keep a low-profile while still providing the best in object detection. It can drive up to walls and avoid steps without falling. It also automatically raises the mop when driving on rugs or short-pile carpets. However, it did struggle with longer-pile carpets as well as some long, thick messes of dried-on debris.

Like many robots like it, the S1 Pro comes ready to take off from the box and needs only a quick initial mapping run to learn its way around your home. Once it's done, the map is displayed in the app and rooms can be added or combined as needed.
