WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades provide a guaranteed boost to specific stats. Each upgrade boosts the item level by +3. A random additional substat is also boosted alongside each upgrade.

The more modernized gear generally has a greater value for trade as long as it meets low requirements (like the FB shield of the sorc) or very high stat variation (like Eth titan weapons). Upgrades aren't as useful for those with lower requirements because of the requirement to roll an exact version.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader allows players to upgrade their gear by offering the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any kind of weapon or armor. The item used to upgrade the item will be consumed and can't be used again. Upgrades can also be applied to the enchantments.

The upgrader can be found in every major city, and can be visited anytime to upgrade your equipment. It is recommended that you visit the upgrader every few weeks, to ensure that your equipment is up-to-date.

Upgrades will cost more depending on the level of the item however, they are always cheaper than purchasing new gear. For example, upgrading a chest piece from Benthic to 385 levels will cost 20 recycle points purchasing a similar piece from another player will costs 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are items that can be used to upgrade tools, armor, weapon, and accessory upgrades. They can be purchased by players through NPCs who sell upgrades to item owners for a variety of currencies. They can also find them on random treasure lists. Once an upgrade is purchased, it can be used on any weapon or tool using a button, which displays a preview of the item upgrader kit when it is upgraded if the player has sufficient materials.

The upgrade cost depends on the slot of the item level upgrade and the current item level as well as the level of the weapon, which is more than bracers or gloves, for example. Each upgrade costs 15 Flightstones plus a set number of crests. Certain upgrades provide a discount on the Flightstones. After an Item Level Upgrade has been upgraded to a certain level it is able to be downgraded and sold to the upgrader for a lower price.

Upgraders for items can be found in many places, including the main island as well as some outposts. The NPCs offer both an upgrade coupon and the chance to obtain the latest recipe. The upgrade discount increases as more items are upgraded. It can also be increased by having players complete certain achievements or complete quests.

Unlike Cromwell in Baldur's Gate II, there is no upgrader for items available at the start of Icewind Dale. The NPCs who can facilitate upgrades are only accessible through a variety of methods. This is both a benefit and a disadvantage.

In Season 3, many new features were added to the upgrade system. After a player has earned an upgrade to a certain level of an item for a specific armor slot, upgrading additional items to that level will cost less even if they are part of an entirely different set of gear.

The discount is applicable to all accounts. Similarly, the amount of Harbinger Crests required for upgrades is also cut and is not available until players have reached certain milestones in their achievements.

Crests

When upgrading equipment in WoW, players have a few choices. Flightstones are a currency that is available to everyone who wants to upgrade. Crests are more specialized and are used for specific item level upgrades. Crests are an integral element of the Dragonflight Gear Progression System that was introduced in version 10.1. They come in four ranks.

First, you should know that the crests can only be purchased for equipment that is of a particular rank. Each rank has distinct upgrade paths. The simplest and easiest upgrade is 15 crests. The most complex upgrade can require up to 20 crests, contingent on the kind of gear being upgraded.

Players can earn crests through finishing content at the appropriate level. This could mean doing outdoor activities or taking on dungeons and raids of all difficulty levels to obtain lower-tier gear or Mythic+ raid bosses or dungeons that have a high difficulty for endgame gear. The crests can later be exchanged at an item upgrader NPC like Cuzolth in Dornogal, or Vaskarn in Valdrakken to get the appropriate upgrade paths and steps.

Using these new currencies isn't that difficult however, the system will introduce a few changes to the overall upgrade process. When a piece of equipment attains the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer or Adventurer), it is no longer required to purchase Flightstones. This change is intended to allow players to upgrade their gear up to the highest level possible on all their characters instead of relying on seasonal loot.

Another important change is that crests only have one use and it's crucial to use them wisely. For instance it's Best item upgrade to utilize all of your Whelpling rank crests on the best equipment available, and then save Drake and Wyrm crests for the next round of upgrades you're planning to create. This is especially applicable to items like trinkets and rings that take up several slots. The discount on the account will only apply when all the slots on the character are filled with high-quality equipment.
