However, it did struggle in the presence of carpets with a longer pile and also several large, thick piles of dried-on debris.

Like most robots like it, the S1 Pro comes ready to roll out of the box and needs only the initial mapping run to figure out how it can navigate your home. Once that's done, the map is displayed in the app and rooms can be added or merged as needed. You can also set up virtual boundaries, no-go zones and no-mop zones if you don't want the robot hoover to get into certain items.

The S1 Pro does a great job of removing messes from hard floors, thanks to its rotating mop head, which puts 2.2lbs (1kg) of downward pressure on the floor. Its ability to vacuum and mop is a great choice for homes that have floors of both types. However, its dependence on Eufy cleaning solutions (which are included in the box), can make it less adaptable than other robots that allow you to add your own cleaning solutions.
