Path of Exile Item Upgrading

Upgrade components

This will show a preview on the right side of the screen showing what the expected upgrade statistics will be, as well as the necessary component or material needed to complete the upgrade.

There are three kinds of upgrade components: universal upgrades, prefix upgrades, and suffix upgrades. Universal upgrades, which comprise gems, can be put in any kind of equipment, and offer lower bonuses than upgrade components that are type-restricted.
