What is an Item Upgrader in Pokemon Go?

The item upgrading upgrader adds a new widget to the top of the Angel and Cash Upgrade windows. The Manager is priced at 33 billion Angel Investors and offers no gameplay benefit aside from making it easier to view and purchase upgrades.

Boosters

Costs

Success Rate

The basis for upgrading items is an opportunity, and like any random system, there is the possibility that the upgrade won't succeed. There are several ways to increase the chances of success. This includes the use of an item known as an Upgrade Pity, or the addition of extra items to the upgrade.

An Upgrade Pity is an item you can purchase from the smithing NPC in Lost Ark. It increases the chances of a successful upgrade by a percentage. It is similar to the luck bonus that some items have however it is more stable. This can be added to any weapon or armor, and is used three times.

You can also add other materials to the upgrade to increase the chance of success. These are displayed in a window above the + button. There are a few limitations. The maximum amount of material you can add is shown directly above the + button.

A Blacksmith Blessing or an upgraded version thereof can be used to increase the likelihood of an upgrade succeeding. This item is useful if you have an Best Item Upgrader or weapon gear that has reached the highest level for its tier or is close to it. This item will allow you upgrade the equipment to the next level without the risk of breaking.

If an upgrade is unsuccessful it will be restored to its previous state. This is typically an error, but it could also be an upgrade. You should save an upgrade until you are nearing the maximum level of an item.

There are a variety of items available in the Kafra shop that can be used to increase the odds of an upgrade succeeding. For example upgrading an item of equipment using HD Oridecon or HD Elunium multiple times will give you more chance of success. The rate of success will be enhanced if you boost your chances of receiving a Double Mint by Shoe-Minting five times.

Failure Rate

You must have the right number of cores to perform a normal upgrade. Once you have them, click the button next to the item upgrader mod that you want to upgrade. The upgrade window will display a percent indicator of your chances of success. This percentage is determined by the level of upgrade for the item and the type you have selected.

You can also select an item that is protected by a safeguard your item in the event of failure. The safeguard is not free however the cost will be lower than the cost of a new item upgrades. The safeguard can only be used one time per upgrade and will not expire until used again.

The UI for the item upgrader can be difficult to navigate, but it's not impossible to navigate. The main menu is located on the left and the upgrade window is displayed on the right.
